I take a few things from the C-Major Play along. 1st, If you play simple songs up and down the neck with just one string you tend to learn the names of the notes all the way up the neck which is very helpful. The 2nd lesson I take from this is: that there is more than one way to do things. Notice he’s playing with one finger, then 3 fingers all on one string, then on 2 or 3 strings. But, yet it’s the same song, same notes.

Which lesson are you talking about ?

Then How can I combine 2 or 3 strings with that….

Something that I’m just curious about is;

Is there some real amazing explanation why when the 5th note is sharp its called augmented and if its flat then it’s diminished, instead of just sharp or flat?

If you want to expand the way you look at guitar I suggest “The Advancing Guitarist” by Mick Goodrick.

However, I wouldn’t get too bogged down in books. It’s better to learn lots of songs, steal licks, stuff like that.
